This New Smartphone Can Detect Fake Products

In this day and age where everyone has an app and our app stores are filled with millions of products, it is hard to know the difference between a real and a fake product. This is why we are excited to have the new artificial intelligence that will enable your smartphone to know the difference between real and fake products.

The problem with some products is that some have counterfeit versions of the exact same product. Researchers from New York noticed that many genuine product owners are faced with the issue of their products affected by duplicated products. Product creators are still faced with the challenge of how to stop counterfeit trafficking which currently represents seven per cent of the world’s trade today.

So how exactly does it work? It provides a non-intrusive solution that can detect authentic versions of the product created by the original manufacturer and fake versions of the product made by counterfeiters. It does so by deploying a dataset of three million images across various objects and materials such as fabrics, leather, pills, electronics, toys and shoes. It is said to be 98% accurate and has been able to verify the authenticity of everyday objects.
